About Us

 Nature is such an incredible gift. We all have the ability to experience it's beauty and design and it's freely given and teaches us about our place in this world as we listen to it. However, it's difficult to get back if it's lost and demands our respect if we're to benefit from it. To understand and admire nature is such a great feeling, and we hope Grower's Guild helps those of you with this same passion share that feeling with others.

 Inspired by what in some gardening circles are known as "plant guilds", Grower's Guild is a platform that helps people grow together in their interest of nature. In plant guilds, each plant has a unique characteristic that allows them to thrive while performing a function alongside other plants in their space. For example, a low-growing, shade-loving plant may do well with a tall-sun loving plant that provides it shade.

 Likewise, we each have gifts, talents and resources that we can use to help each other succeed in our nature-inspired goals (gardening, agriculture, foraging, exploration, research). So Grower's Guild was created to service you and your community with tools which empower connections with one another, and inspire your passion for nature.

 Local communities are important and powerful places. We as individuals influence the most important choices and changes in our local area, and Grower's Guild is meant to highlight opportunities to participate. There are many ways that nature contributes to our local communities from the food we eat to the landscapes we enjoy and the health of our environment. We should be aware of how our community plays its part in it and what resources are available for us to succeed with relationship with nature. One of our key goals is to connect groups of people already working well with nature or to help you start something new if there is something missing in your area.

 One tree no matter how large on its own, can create a forest. And no flower, no matter how beautiful, can compare to the vastness and wonderful diversity of a meadow. Nothing in nature stands on its own separate from everything else and Grower's Guild is community-driven and community-focused.

 We need our community to participate, to provide insights show us where we can improve and where we are doing well. What we do, we want to do for the benefit of our community, providing a service that provides real value and impact in your lives. If we're not doing that, we are not succeeding in our mission.

 There is no one size fits all approach when it comes to how each of us interact with nature. Each of us has our own set of preferences, desires and goals when it comes to our individual relationship with nature. You could be a farmer aiming to grow the best produce, a gardener maintaining great looking gardens, a forager enjoying the bounty of the fields, an ecologist looking to preserve nature's beauty and diversity. Each of us is different and unique in our approaches.

 Whether you are just starting out or have been on at this for awhile, we hope Grower's Guild can enrich your personal relationship with nature. Nature is always teaching us new and interesting things which is why interacting with it is always a breath of fresh air! We want to see you grow in your personal relationship with nature because it can truly help you on your journey for personal growth and understanding.

 If it wasn't clear by how much we use the word "succeed" we want you to be successful in your goals! And not only that, we want you to carry your successes with nature to others that can be empowered from the things you've learned on your journey. All the things we've outlined above contribute to the success of the aspirations we each have to interact with nature: the need for community, working with local resources, making use of each others talents and gifts, a solid yet flexible educational foundation.
